Our Curriculum
The Erudio Learning Program is based on the UK Statutory Early Years Foundation Stage integrated with a strong STEAM based approach: Based on STEM education (with the addition of the ‘arts’) the Erudio STEAM Programme elevates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math to another level, interconnecting these important subjects to prepare children for 21st century learning.
The UK Statutory Framework Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is split into 7 areas of learning, more specifically 3 Prime Areas and 4 Specific Areas:
Prime Areas
Personal, social and emotional development
Physical development
Language & Communication
Specific Areas
Literacy
Problem Solving and Numeracy
Knowledge and Understanding of world
Creative development
All areas of Learning and Development are equally important and inter-connected. The EYFS and STEAM curriculum is delivered through play - based learning, because research has shown that when playing, children are learning at their highest level and exploratory play promotes optimal brain development.
Language of Instruction
As English is the most common and most spoken language in the world, we deliver our programme with English as the language of instruction. The learning environment offers a ‘language rich provision’ and children’s language development has a high focus, supported by knowledgeable and articulate practitioners.
Additional Language Programme
We offer a strong Arabic Language Programme for all children on a weekly basis and include optional French or Russian Language lessons at least weekly.
Enrichment Activities
Cooking, Music, Kids Yoga, Gym, Dance and other activities enrich our programme on a
weekly basis, not only as part of the Erudio Curriculum delivered by teachers, but as afternoon
Enrichment Activates, delivered by experts in the field.
Why Choose
A spacious, purpose-built facility includes
Music Room
Our spacious, dedicated music room offers young children the opportunity to explore cultural arts and music as part of their creative development.
Research tells us that when children are given the opportunity to explore, create and listen to music, both logical and creative sides of a young brain are used, thus forming new neurological pathways which benefit mathematical, language and emotional development.
Children have the opportunity to use the music room as part of the curriculum or engage in afternoon music lessons as an extra - curricular activity.
Spacious Learning Area
Our spacious, well designed learning areas include classrooms or learning rooms, indoor play area, gym, music room, library, and sensory room as well as a beautiful outdoor play area.
The children will be grouped into classrooms or learning rooms as follows:
- Babies from 6 weeks to Confident Walker
- Toddlers Confident Walker to 3 years
- FS1 & FS2 3 – 5+ years
Babies 6 weeks – Confident Walker
For this age group, the learning room is not be dominated by tables and chairs, as babies learning takes place mostly on the floor and babies need space to crawl and explore. Low height mirrors and a low table and chairs are included for feeding times. Soft protective flooring and a cosy corner to snuggle is be included and babies have a dedicated sleep room.
Toddlers Confident Walker to 3 years
Toddlers need plenty of space to move as learning takes place through continuous provision and exploring their learning environment. Low tables are be provided as the toddlers begin to sit for activities and snack. A cosy corner is prepared and access to books on low shelves where activities and resources are available for toddlers to select and explore.
FS1 & FS2 3 – 5+ years
For FS1 and FS2 children active learning is still encouraged. One or two tables for activities and snacks are provided. However, most of the learning continues to be through following the children’s interests, child led learning and free exploration of the learning environment. Some teacher directed learning takes place as well as individual and small group activities. A cosy corner and access to books is available at all times.
Outdoor Play Area
The outdoor play area is expertly designed to include apparatus for climbing, cycle track, grassy area, water & sand play area, and a quite nook for listening to stories. We have designed the outdoor with natural elements which evokes imagination and exploration.
Sensory Room
Research has shown that young children learn through their senses, and sometimes, these senses become overloaded or require sensory input to balance and re – ground busy, over - active learners. Therefore, our center offers a specially equipped Sensory Room, to sooth and satisfy the high sensory needs of young children.
